IT Intern – Summer, Fall 2025
Position Overview
Join our dynamic IT team for a hands-on summer internship experience! We’re seeking enthusiastic students interested in launching their IT careers. This 4-month internship provides real-world experience in technical support while working alongside experienced professionals who are committed to mentoring the next generation of IT talent.
Key Responsibilities
- Shadow and assist IT helpdesk technicians with day-to-day support tasks, learning our ticketing system and support processes while gaining hands-on experience.
- Help manage basic user requests such as password resets, email setup, and basic software installation under the guidance of experienced team members.
- Assist with inventory management, including logging new equipment, organizing the IT storage room, and helping prepare workstations for new employees.
- Participate in documentation efforts by helping create and update how-to guides, user manuals, and knowledge base articles for common issues.
- Support basic hardware maintenance tasks like printer maintenance, computer updates, and basic troubleshooting with supervision.
- Learn and practice proper IT security protocols and best practices in a real-world environment.
- Contribute to team projects while learning about enterprise IT infrastructure and support processes.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Rising juniors and seniors preferred, but all years will be considered.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and software, demonstrated through coursework, personal projects, or previous experience.
- Genuine enthusiasm for technology and eagerness to learn. We value curiosity and problem-solving ability over extensive technical knowledge.
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor. Must be comfortable interacting with users and team members in a business environment.
- Basic familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications from a user perspective.
- Reliable transportation to our office location during business hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience in any field, showing ability to interact professionally with others.
- Experience with basic computer troubleshooting, even if just helping family and friends.
- Familiarity with any help desk software, remote support tools, or IT service management concepts.
- Interest in pursuing IT certifications (A+, Network+) or currently studying for them.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts from coursework or personal interest.

- Full-time summer position (37.5 hours/week, Monday-Friday)
